Strategic Investment Themes

Less competitive markets – we focus on mid-market (<$150m) non-public upstream and midstream US onshore assets and seek to build and exploit competitive advantage in “overlooked” regions that are less active than mainstream basin

In-house operating capabilities – through our “Riverside” operating group, we seek to control and operate acquired assets directly, and focus on opportunities where Riverside has particular skills and a track record of success

High cash producing conventional assets – our strength is acquiring and improving conventional oil and gas producing properties through cost reduction, process optimization and marginal production uplift improvements that are often overlooked

Watching medium and long term trends – we attempt to anticipate the impact of medium and long term trends in the energy industry such as de-carbonization, M&A consolidation of shale assets and the resultant move by majors away from conventional assets, the rise of natural gas as the “transitional clean fuel” and inevitable increases in the shale cost curve

Taking short term opportunities – when possible we attempt to benefit from short term opportunities such as (currently) US taxation benefits for CO2 disposal and investment in “opportunity zones”
