Job Description & Duties:

  • Develop investment fund policies and strategies.

  • Oversee and conduct financial analysis and modeling and prepare investment plans.

  • Manage investment funds to maximize return, monitor investment performance and ensure portfolios meet performance goal and risk objectives. 

  • Analyze financial information relating to current and future investment opportunities, such as industry trends and economic conditions, in order to forecast fund, industry and business performance, to interpret how they could affect current and future investments, and to inform financial forecasting and decision making.

  • Select investments for acquisition and carry out or direct the execution of trades.

  • Monitor applicable regulatory environments, ensure fund compliance, prepare regulatory reports and respond to regulatory inquiries.

  • Prepare and present reports to executive management regarding economic trends, investment opportunities, and progress on investment projects.

  • Work with leadership to enhance business investment processes and ensure allocation of resources is in accordance with the company’s priorities and investment objectives.

  • Prepare and present reports for investors, such as statements, risk reports, fund performance statistics, manager commentary etc.

  • Direct activities of certain financial and investment staff, monitor and improve team duties and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting or finance.

  • Ten (10) years of industry relevant experience in investment fund management is required.

  • Experience in staff supervisory and managerial activities.

  • Experience in business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and leading interdisciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate and solve problems by sourcing, analyzing and reviewing related information to develop and implement solutions.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with business processes and design preferable.

  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums.

  • Experience in the international investment space is required.

  • Industry-relevant certifications or certificates preferred.

  • Experience in the African and Southern African investment space preferred.


  • Demonstrated excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage mid-level financial or accounting staff members. Ability to lead project teams.

  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in teams. Must have the ability to work comfortably with individuals at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, environment, and the ability to maintain and respect confidentiality.

  • Working knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively attract and manage international client portfolios.


M-F, 8am-5pm; may include occasional weekend and/or evening hours.


Starting at $80,500/year; compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
